Description:
Kalvimox Powder (Amoxicillin Trihydrate) is a semi-synthetic
broad spectrum bactericidal antibiotic belonging to the group
of penicillins. It acts by inhibiting mucopeptide synthesis in the
bacterial cell wall and is active against Gram-positive
bacteria (non-penicillinase producing Staphylococci,
Streptococci, Corynebacteria, Clostridia, Actinomyces spp.,
Bacillus anthracis, Listeria monocytogenes, etc.) and
Gram-negative bacteria (Proteus mirabilis, Pasteurella spp.,
Haemophilus spp., Actinobacillus spp., Salmonella spp.,
E.coli, Moraxella spp., Fusobacterium, etc.) Amoxicillin has
good absorption and diffuses rapidly into most tissues.
Indications:
Kalvimox Powder is indicated for the prevention & treatment
of gastro-intestinal, respiratory, urinary tract infections and
secondary bacterial infections following viral infections in
poultry, calves, sheep and goats caused by amoxicillin
susceptible bacteria.
Dosage & Administration:
Poultry: 1 gm per 2-3 litres of drinking water for 3-5 days.
Calves, Sheep & Goats:
2-3 gm per 50 Kg b.wt. daily for 3-5 days.
Withdrawal Period:
Meat: 7 days, Milk: 3 days.
