Description:
Neomax Forte w.s.p. (Neomycin Sulphate) is a broad spectrum
bactericidal aminoglycosidic antibiotic with particular activity
against certain members of the Enterobacteriaceae like E.coli.
Neomycin disturbs the bacterial protein synthesis at the
ribosomal level. Absorption of neomycin sulphate after oral
administration is very limited & is not inactivated by digestive
enzymes and ingesta. It is therefore, mainly active against the
Gram-negative bacteria located into the gastro-intestinal tract.
Indications:
Neomax Forte w.s.p. is indicated for the prevention and
treatment of gastro-intestinal infections in calves, sheep,
goats & poultry caused by neomycin susceptible bacteria
such as E.coli, Salmonella and Campylobacter spp.
Dosage & Administration:
Oral via drinking water or liquid feed.
Poultry: 1 gm per 5-7 litres of drinking water for 3-5 days.
Calves, Sheep & Goats:
1 gm per 50 Kg b.wt. daily for 3-5 days.
Withdrawal Period:
Meat: Poultry: 7 days, Calves:21 days.
