Oracol w.s.p. (Colistin sulphate) is a narrow spectrum
bactericidal oral polymyxin antibiotic that acts by damaging
the permeability of bacterial membrane.
Oracol w.s.p. is very effective against specific Gram negative
bacteria like E.coli, pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella spp.,
Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp., Brucella spp.,
Enterobacter aerogenes, Shigella spp. & Campylobacter spp.
Oracol w.s.p. is absorbed very difficult at the level of intestine
and it is the fact that determines its good results in
gastro-intestinal tract infections.
Indications:
Oracol w.s.p. is indicated for prevention and treatment of
gastro-intestinal infections in poultry, calves & lambs caused
by bacteria susceptible to colistin sulphate.
Dosage & Administration:
Oral via drinking water
Poultry:
1-2 gm per 10 litres of drinking water for 3-5 days.
Calves, Sheep & Goats:
1-2 gm per 80 kg b.wt. twice daily during 3-5 days.
Withdrawal Period:
Meat: 2 Days, Eggs: 5 days.
